The Anthony home has been in the family for 3 generations, and had been used as a rental property for the last several years. Unfortunately, years of neglect resulted in heavy smoke and water damage, extensive damage to the walls, and the flooring had become unstable throughout. Rather than have the house torn down, the homeowner chose to have an extensive remodel done to restore the house to livable conditions again. While restoration was the main focus, the homeowner also wanted to make the house feel inviting and modern.
The old flooring was removed and new sub flooring with laminate and vinyl was installed throughout. The laundry room and bathroom were stripped down to the bare stud walls and rebuilt from the ground up. A new shower/tub and custom sink with updated fixtures gave the small bathroom an updated look and more functionality. In the kitchen, new countertops, sink and appliances were installed and the cabinets were restored to their original look. Old plywood closets in the bedrooms were removed and replaced with built-in closets. New interior and exterior doors were installed. Custom painted millwork and walls throughout the house, along with new lighting and hardware, gave the house the finishing touches for the modern look the homeowner wanted.
